Thesis Title: Expanding the Possibilities of Translation Memory Systems: From the Translator's Whishlist to the Developer's Design
About
Elina holds a BSc in Translation from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting of Ionian University, Greece, and an MA in Development Administration from Westminster Business School, UK. In 2008, Elina completed her PhD research at Imperial College London, under the supervision of Mark Shuttleworth. She has also completed further academic training at University of Surrey and Harvard. She has worked as a translator, language consultant and project manager for website localisation projects.
Her research focuses on translation support systems (e.g. translation memory tools). Other research interests include collection and evaluation of translation resources, usability issues in translation software, crowdsourcing models in translation, and machine translation.
