About

I am conducting doctoral research into work incentive and efficiency systems in British industry, 1920s-40s. I am researching reforms in a variety of industries, from coal to cars, and from milk to mail order. I am particularly interested in the political dimension to these industries.

I organised a conference entitled 'Fresh Perspectives on Britain in World War Two', which took place on Wednesday 9 November at Imperial College. More details here: https://sites.google.com/site/freshperspectivesww2
